Client: United Nations Development Program (UNDP)
Beneficiary: Faculty of Arts, University of Juba, South Sudan
Year: 2021
The UNDP and its partners aim to support a leading technical public university—the University of Juba—by enabling its students to become global innovators. As part of this effort, the UNDP established the Africa Timbuktoo University Innovation Pod to foster innovation in the study body.
The project involved providing technology training equipment, photography, and video production equipment. This included 3D printers, cameras, podcast recording and production equipment, as well as IT supplies such as laptops and desktops.
These resources will greatly benefit students at the University of Juba and enhance workforce preparedness in their respective fields. The project supports sustainable development by promoting the acquisition of skills aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). This empowers students to contribute to their communities, driving socio-economic progress and growth.
